Applications > Water & Waste Treatment

Treatment of domestic and industrial waste, and contaminated soils

Lime is an essential chemical in the different operations (dehydration, stabilisation, fixation of heavy metals) for the treatment of household, industrial waste, and contaminated soils. It is efficient, economical and a  safe way to treat waste to prevent bad smells, water contamination due to leaching and the presence of animals like rats or birds.

Waste- and drinking water treatment

Lime is an indispensable material for the treatment of waste- and drinking water. It is essentially used to:

  • correct the pH factor of excessively acidic waters and prevent dissolved metals from becoming insoluble and precipitating as metal hydroxide;
  • precipitate phosphates, sulphates and fluorides as easily recoverable insoluble calcium salts;

  • remineralise excessively soft water (aggressive to pipes);

  • decarbonate excessively hard water to prevent scaling of pipes.
